Veneers and crowns are both made of high-quality porcelain and both can transform a smile — but they solve different problems.
Porcelain veneers
A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front surface of a tooth. It is ideal for teeth that are healthy but discoloured, slightly chipped, uneven or spaced. Modern minimal-prep techniques remove very little enamel.
Porcelain crowns
A crown covers the entire tooth. It is the better choice when a tooth is heavily filled, cracked, weakened after a root canal, or sitting on top of an implant.
How long do they last?
Both typically last 10–15 years or more with good care. Avoid biting hard objects, wear a night guard if you grind your teeth, and keep up with check-ups.
Is the process painful?
Preparation is done under local anaesthesia. With digital design and in-house milling, the whole process can often be completed in two appointments.
